For some reason, this exciting event was unbeknownst to me until today. “Vacation Races” have been held here for several years now.  

Event Summary:  This is a seriously scenic course with gorgeous views of Mt. Rainier as you pass over rivers and through meadows on a mix of pavement, gravel, and trails. Plus, you might catch a glimpse of a friendly Sasquatch on your way to the finish line!

This looks like an opportunity for a quick getaway. All you need to know about this ½ marathon and 5K event is on this website. 

Roy Rodeo: It's also "about to get a little western around here!" The Roy Rodeo is coming June 3 and 4 and Sept. 2 and 3! Gates open at noon, the show starts at 1:30 p.m.,  rain or shine.  You can purchase tickets at the gate. There's an additional fee for card purchases, but they are accepted.
