In my last newsletter, I looked toward the sky regarding the future of air travel. Today, I'm heading back toward the ground to discuss our regional transit authority, Pierce Transit.
They are working on improving transit service and want your feedback to understand better how Pierce Transit can work best for you. I encourage you to share your feedback to help them better understand your current transit needs. Take the Service Recovery survey and tell us what matters most to you!
Take the Service Recovery survey by Aug. 31!
Do you want more evening service? Enhanced weekend or weekday service? What is important for Pierce Transit to restore first? I am happy Pierce Transit is taking this important step to get your feedback; your participation will help us better our regional transit agency.
Background on the Service Recovery Plan
Like most transit agencies nationally, Pierce Transit was greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Though most COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, our transit service currently operates at 80 percent of pre-pandemic service hours.
I know many people’s travel habits have changed since service was reduced in 2020, and it is important that Pierce Transit understand what the community needs are now and in the future.
To achieve this, they have launched the Service Recovery Plan, helping them plan where to strategically increase transit service as commuters go back to their workplaces and the economy continues to rebound.
