I hope this newsletter finds the residents of District 6 well and enjoying summer!

As Chair of the Pierce County Council I have been focusing on issues that are paramount to our county such as public safety, economic development, abatement, behavioral health/homelessness and infrastructure.

The Council has addressed many of these issues in the first part of this year by passing ordinances related to chronic nuisances, funding for five additional sheriff deputy positions and funding for park infrastructure improvements. Although these actions are significant there is still much work to do in the coming year, such as establishing a family wage job tax credit.

I also want to inform you, that after nearly six years as my Councilmember Assistant (CA), Alice McDaniel has left my office to pursue another opportunity. I want to thank Alice for her hard work on behalf of the residents of the Mighty 6th District and her unflagging support to me.

I would like to introduce and welcome Loujanna(LJ) Rohrer as my new CA. LJ is a resident of District 6 and most recently worked for Representative Dick Muri. We are fortunate to have her in our office.

Thank you for allowing me to represent you on the Pierce County Council. As always please feel free to contact me or my assistant LJ Rohrer.
