Jim McCune

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Another week is now history. How quickly the days go by! If you haven’t marked your calendar already, please let this note be a reminder to attend the Council’s in-district meeting next Tuesday at 6:30 in Eatonville’s Community Center. There will be many topics covered. Your participation is encouraged. At the end of the meeting, anyone may speak for 3 minutes to the Council about any topic of their choice concerning county government.

For equine lovers, you may be interested in an opportunity to volunteer with the Sheriff’s Department. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse is accepting applications to volunteer with the group. An open house will be held on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Parkland-Spanaway Sheriff’s Precinct for people interested in joining the posse.

Mounted Posse

The Mounted Posse is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to patriotism, recreation and social relationships. The group strives to make a positive impact in the community by supporting the Sheriff with security and patrol at events. Horsemanship remains a strong focus of the posse and members participate in several mounted events annually.

For more information, contact Lt. Cyndie Fajardo at [email protected]. The Parkland-Spanaway Sheriff’s Precinct is located at 495 Shandon Wright Way S. Tacoma, WA 98444.

Overpass
In closing, has anyone noticed that the railroad overpass on Mtn. Hwy is all gray and the tracks are fenced off? A hearty thank you to Joe Lonergan, City of Tacoma councilman, for his assistance in getting that cleaned up. More energy is being dedicated to cleaning up our neighborhoods. If you are against those efforts, please let me know!

I hope to see you next Tuesday!

Sincerely,
Jim
