Pierce County Boards and Commissions Needs You

During my time as an elected official and as an activist, I have had the opportunity to create policy, establish programs and advocate for those that need to be heard.  Throughout all of this, one thing I know for sure, is public participation in government only makes the community stronger.

Knowing this, I am always eager to look for ways to make sure the public stays involved. Now I know that some of you may not have the time or that delving into government (sometimes politics) feels like a laborious adventure and it would just be easier to stick to what you are comfortable with.

I am here to tell you that we need you. We need your input, creativity and passion at the table. There are many ways to get involved but I want to focus on one way in particular, that has many options…Pierce County Boards and Commissions.

More than 48 boards and commissions are among the opportunities for residents to get involved. Topics range from the conservation of public lands to providing feedback on programs for children or the disabled, or promoting economic development in our county.
Pierce County has a webpage dedicated to all the ways to get involved in Boards and Commissions. Click here to find out more information.

The options to participate in government are endless and you will be sure to find an issue or topic where you can make a difference. If you run into any speed bumps deciding about how you should become engaged, please don’t ever hesitate to contact my office. We are here to help you make a difference.
