What will the construction consist of?
The best way to address capacity, corrosion, and groundwater issues is to replace the old pipes with a new, larger one. This project replaces existing pipes with a larger, 72-inch diameter interceptor pipe along Brookdale Road from Golden Given Road E. to A Street S. Shifting the interceptor north to 131st Street E. from 8th Avenue E./133rd Street E. places it in an area less affected by high groundwater. The new pipe is made of material more resistant to groundwater infiltration.
