What are under and over votes?: An under vote is when a voter chooses not to vote on a specific race or issue. An over vote is when a voter votes for two or more candidates in a race or votes for both "yes" and "no" on an issue.

1. How do I register to vote?

There are three ways to register to vote:

Online
In person at the Pierce County Election Center, 2501 S 35th St, Suite C, Tacoma, WA 98409
By mail - Call and a form can be mailed to you. (253) 798-VOTE (8683)

2. How do I change my address or name on my voter registration?: To update your address or change your name visit VoteWA.

3. How do I get a replacement ballot?: If you did not receive or need a replacement ballot, please call our office at 253-798-VOTE (8683).

4. Where can I get voter data?: Fill out, pre-pay, and submit a Registered Voters Data Order Form

6. How do I change my political party?: Washington State does not register voters by political party or party affiliation.

7. Why did I get a jury summons?: Jury summons are mailed by Pierce County Superior Court Jury Administration. The courts use both the voter registration file and the Washington Drivers License list to choose potential jurors.

8. Do I need a stamp to mail my ballot?: Returning your ballot is easy! No stamp is required if you are mailing your ballot or using a ballot drop box.
