Do I need a mechanical or plumbing permit to replace a furnace or water heater?: Yes, replacement of those fixtures does require a permit, IRC Section R105.1 and UPC Section 103. Residential structures can get the permit online.

1. Do I need a plumbing permit to install a sprinkler system in my yard?: Yes, you do need a plumbing permit so we can inspect that the proper device is installed for cross connection control. UPC Section 103

2. Do I need a gas-piping permit when I am changing from an electric water heater to gas water heater in my home?: Yes, any time you change or add gas pipe you need a gas-piping permit, residential structures can get the permit online. IRC Section R105.1
