1.
When is the vegetation on the county property/levee/pond/ditch going to be cut?
Vegetation control within this type of infrastructure is usually completed once during the summer months and occasionally on an as needed basis. If you see vegetation that needs attention, please fill out our online

2.
When is the debris in the pond going to be picked up?
Debris originating from vegetation control activities is routinely collected and hauled off-site. Call (253) 798-2725 to request a specific date for pick-up at the site. If possible, have the pond number (usually posted on the gate) or location of the property available.
3.
Can the county do anything about a mosquito problem in a stormwater pond?
If the pond is owned and maintained by Pierce County, the problem can be evaluated to determine if it requires pesticide treatment. Please fill out our online

4.
Who maintains this stormwater pond?
Call (253) 798-2725 with the address or parcel number of the pond, and we can tell you who owns it. Pierce County ponds typically have a sign with the appropriate contact information.

What should I do if a neighbor's runoff is coming onto my property?
We encourage private property owners to discuss these issues with the adjacent property owner. Pierce County considers this type of issue to be a matter between two or more private property owners. Upon request, we may provide technical assistance on methods to solve a drainage issue, but no other resources can be provided by Pierce County.

I saw a sign on county property that said the site is closed to the public or no trespassing. Why can't I access public property?
County properties are often not set up to accommodate public use, due to possible liabilities, restoration activities, or past unauthorized activities on the property. Please heed these warnings, because hazards may exist. Many county facilities are constructed on exclusive easements granted to Pierce County specifically for that project, and that right cannot be conveyed to the general public for access. The county has many properties that are open to the public. Please contact
Pierce County Parks and Recreation
for more details.
