I saw a sign on county property that said the site is closed to the public or no trespassing. Why can't I access public property?
County properties are often not set up to accommodate public use, due to possible liabilities, restoration activities, or past unauthorized activities on the property. Please heed these warnings, because hazards may exist. Many county facilities are constructed on exclusive easements granted to Pierce County specifically for that project, and that right cannot be conveyed to the general public for access. The county has many properties that are open to the public. Please contact Pierce County Parks and Recreation for more details.
